The secret life of album sleeves

I don’t know about you but I am fascinated with album sleeves. Plus its one of my favorite past times…rushing to the record store…ripping open a new CD and reading all the creepy sh*t artists would share with the world. Heres my first tribute to one of my favorite album sleeves. Ill post a new one weekly.

The Strokes, ‘Is This It’. The butt you see here belongs to the then-girlfriend of sleeve designer Colin Lane. Only true indie nerds, however, will know that the back cover of the album depicts the West 39th overpass over Dyer Avenue in New York, as the band emerged from the Lincoln Tunnel.
